Assassin's Creed became friends with Attack on Titan due to the similarities in their series. Both take place in older time periods and have stories that involve people skillfully jumping across buildings and killing enemies for an important cause. They find it easy to come up with crossover stories because of this.
Assassin's Creed initially did not know Metal Gear very well, but thought his games looked pretty cool. They started forming a friendship in 2008 on April Fool's day when the creators of their respective games made a "trailer" for the fake crossover game Assassin's Solid. The fandoms continued to see easter eggs in their later games in the form of items and outfits. They have remained good friends over the years.
Assassin's Creed likes to make fun of Metal Gear's strange science fiction elements, like the nanomachines or cloning soldier genes. Sometimes he even brags about the historical accuracy of his games. Metal Gear then points out that AC's game has things like the Animus and genetic memory and an inherited sixth sense and asks who has more outlandish logic.
Assassin's Creed was always a fan of Mario; there was even a reference to his catch phrase, "It's-a-me, Mario!" in AC2. Now that Ubisoft has made a new game featuring Mario, they may get to know each other better.
